2023

To the players, sponsors, donors, and volunteers of the second “Salute to Service Champions Golf Tournament,”
We wish to express our gratitude, again, for the hundreds of contributions (both big and small) that everyone made to pull this tournament together!
In our second year, everything was a little bigger and a little better. We had a full roster of golfers, increased sponsor and donor support, added two amazing Pros from the Epson Tour, were joined by many ex-service members and Warrior Alumni; and by the grace of God, we somehow found a perfect Colorado day in the middle of a very rainy spring.
Through your contributions, the Wounded Warrior Project received:
>>> $42,732.88 <<<
Wounded Warrior Project will put these funds towards their long-standing, effective, and much needed programs aiding our nation’s veterans.

The day started with a rapid-fire check-in, an assortment of delicious breakfast burritos from Good Times (Highland Ranch), a complimentary pre-round practice and rally before a brigade of 72 carts took off for their first tee box.

In total, we had 145 golfers (there was one FIVE-some 🤣), 18 amazing sponsors, the great staff of Arrowhead Golf Club, and a select crew of high-powered volunteers - all contributing to the success the tournament. Let's recap...

At Tee Box #1, Best Option Restoration totally understood their audience by offering unexpected and very welcomed fresh baked Dunkin' Donuts throughout the round. You broke-the-mold with this one, 'Best'; and we can never, ever go back. 🤩🚀

Restoration services (and snacks) that go above and beyond!

At Tee Box 2, Caliber Collision and Enterprise Rental Cars teamed up to bring a classy booth with savory snacks, a chipping game where players could use their driver to make 3 out of 4 shots to win a beautiful Wine Basket, and seating to rest your legs and watch the show. Chipping with a driver is more difficult than it sounds, and 'close' just didn't count 🙈 . Refine your sales pitch for next year and maybe Tabatha and Markus will let you pick your club of choice. 🏒

On Tee Box #3, Nolan from IdealTraits knows his stuff. Not only did he generously raffle THREE $100 VISA gift cards; we also like to think he symbolically choose this location for its unobstructed and unsurpassed views. Making great hires is one of the most challenging parts of owning your own business. IdealTraits' simple and affective process provides the perspective necessary to find the best people for the job. "Better hires, better agency" from a higher/hire viewpoint 😉

At Tee Box #6, we were honored to have the amazing fellows from Weed Man lawn care services. Hosting what we hope will be an annual side-tournament, Weed Man's barrel frisbee throwing contest, prizes, and snacks were a huge hit for contestants young and wise. Weed Man is seriously educated in what it takes to create a beautiful space for your yard-game of choice. They provide decades of experience, high-end service, have normalized greatness in the lawn-care industry, and we hope will normalize Frisbee at their tee box for years to come. It's not weird to be Frisbee MVP of a golf tournament, not weird at all. And with a beautiful Weed Man yard, the neighbors won't think your outdoor trophy display is weird either.

At Tee Box #7, Core Roofing + Solar and Water Damage Inc. had something for everyone...
-
High-end sweet (Rice Crispy Bars) AND savory (beef jerky) snacks - check.
-
Local wildlife in golf threads and white kicks - double check 🙈
-
Swing speed contest - awesome.
-
Straight money raffle - heck yeah.
-
Rockies Baseball goodie bag and game suite raffle - seriously!
-
Custom solutions to diverse situations for customers expecting the best - obvious check!
At Core Roofing + Solar and Water Damage Inc. the philosophies are: "Doing right matters"..."Any time, any day". We couldn't have said it better ourselves. A perfect fit for the tournament, a perfect fit for their customers, and genuinely incredible people within our community.

At Tee Box #8, the one and only Rick Sudul from Farmers Insurance Federal Credit Union joined us as our exclusive banking partner. Let's face it, personal and business finances can be difficult to navigate. FIFCU treats their members like family, because they are. FIFCU will tell it to you straight and provide unmatched services, products, and rates. Need a sec to mull that over; no problem. Whether on the course or in the office, Rick offers a seat, a snack, and a knowledgeable advocate in in the industry. Thanks Uncle Rick!

At Tee Box #9, our friends at Accurate America hosted the talented Epsom Tour Pro, Kristen Schelling, who in her "Closest to the Pin" contest was dropping shots on the green like hail on a roof; draining pride and pocketbooks all day. Another fan of symbolism, our new nickname for Kristen (dressed in ice white) is The Storm. And if there is anyone who can help you recover, it's the Accurate America team. As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, Accurate America delivers the best quality craftsmanship and materials for every job - no matter if it's residential, commercial or industrial; remodel, restoration, or The Storm damage.

At Tee Box #10, Pure Restoration surprised our players with cigars and some fun contests. Pure Restoration is like that friend you call after a huge disaster because they know exactly what to do, take care of the clean-up, tell you everything is going to be okay, put some cucumbers on your eyes and let the dog out before they leave. From environmental to bio - residential and commercial, they always have your back no matter the clean-up situation. Like superheroes with a support line; Pure Restoration, we salute you.

At Tee Box #11, Dave Estes from Elite Roofing & Solar showed us how having an elite coach can take the guesswork out of the game and make all the difference in your results. Need some rest and rehydration for your round? How about energy drinks and a seat in the shade. Need help with your shot? Elite comes equipped with a rangefinder, club assessment, and swing tips. Need family in the roofing and solar business, the Elite team are straightshooters who guide you through every step of the process. From navigating insurance, to picking out the right materials for your job, to delivering some of the best products in the business; Elite provides decades of experience, demonstrated results, and treats every build like it's for one of their own.

At Tee Box #12, Althaus Law hosted the windiest "Flippy Cup" contest you've ever seen. For those keeping score, it's not weird to be 'Flippy Cup' MVP of a golf tournament either. But it is weird to be caught without an estate plan. At Farmers Insurance, we protect our customers' assets from loss. We also offer Medicare insurance, life insurance, and financial services. But for a complete protection 'package', Althaus Law is a trusted partner in creating iron-clad estates plans that ensure assets can be transitioned smoothly if/when needed. Big thanks to Jeff and his team for their generous participation in the tournament and for putting a new face on estate planning.

At Tee Box #13, Legacy Restoration greeted players with quality golf towels, ball markers, and a stunning view down Arrowhead's signature par 3 hole. True to their name, Legacy Restoration believes in leaving a legacy; both in their dedication to the community through charitable contributions, as well in the highest standards kept for their products, partnerships, service, and craftmanship. Get to know this team and you will quickly see that every part of Legacy Restoration is built to withstand the test of time.

At Tee Box #14, Rapid Restoration & Construction spoiled players with an assortment of goodies, making this intimidating hole a little easier to face. That's what Rapid does; they're a one-stop-magic-shop that takes the worry out of complex restoration, reconstruction, and renovation situations. Facing a project not for the faint of heart? Rapid pulls a rabbit out of their preverbal bag of tricks, and 'abracadabra', your place looks and feels like Tiger's 2005 chip-in on the 16th hole of the 2005 Masters...or anytime Tiger was on a golf course, actually. Always clutch, Rapid, every time.

At Tee Box #16, Restoration 1 offered an assortment of much appreciated beverages and cooling rags alongside hosting the Men's Long Drive contest. As players took assessment of the wind and optimal flight path, Restoration 1 educated us on their over decade-long experience in the restoration and reconstruction business as well as other comprehensive services, like: pack-out and storage, COVID-19/virus sanitation, vandalism/graffiti clean-up, and beyond. Have a tricky situation? Restoration 1 will keep you cool under pressure and assist in overcoming any restoration battle. Because in the end, there can be only 1...Restoration 1. ⚔️

At Tee Box #17, Abbotts Cleanup & Restoration definitely made good on one of their core values: customers come first. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to enjoy a private cabana at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas? Well step into Abbotts' three-tent VIP experience and it's like you're there. Abbotts spent the day pampering players with cornhole, chipping nets, lounge chairs with fan spritzers, chilled lavender scented towels, and coolers filled with beverages. This is just a taste of the kind of service and support customers can expect from Abbotts. From a wholistic approach in restoration/reconstruction to industry standard pricing and direct insurance billing; all you have to do is put your feet up, watch the match, and smell the flowers while Abbotts takes care of the rest.

Throughout the round, we were excited to have two talented Pros from the Epson Tour competing with our players: Bryce Schroeder Ray (Outdrive the Pro) and Kristen Schelling (Closest to the Pin). Sending a genuine 'Thank You' to Bryce, Kristen, and BackSwing Golf Events, for helping to raise $3,765 in donations and for adding such a fun, competitive twist to the day!

We finished the tournament at the 9th hole green, starting with Golf Galaxy’s Series Putting Contest and a chance to win $50,000 cash.

Putting Contest 'Best in Show'
Our other contestants didn’t walk away empty handed. The upstanding people at Swing Bays and Top Golf generously donated $50 gift certificates to each putting contestant so they will be able to practice their game for next year. Thanks for playing everyone!

After the putting contest, we took 3 lucky raffle winners 165 yards out from the 9th hole for a shot at Golf Galaxy’s $1 Million Shootout. Another big 'Thanks' to our competitors who took valiant swings for the prize:
-
Andy Kalish
-
Tim Franzen
-
Jason Hoffschneider
Both Tim Franzen and Jason Hoffschneider hit the green. But Jason was a few feet closer, which earned him a $250 Series 3 MAX Rangefinder from Blue Tees Golf. And since every contestant walks away a winner, both Andy and Tim will receive a $250 Bag Fitting from Golf Galaxy! Nice work guys! And big ‘thanks’ to Golf Galaxy and BackSwing Golf Events for these awesome prizes!

After the contests, lunch began with a delicious BBQ spread by the talented Arrowhead Culinary Staff. Players were also able to pick up a sleeve of the new PXG XTREME Premium Golf Balls, facilitated by our friends at the PXG Store (Centennial).

Nadine Livingston, of WestPro Roofing, Siding, and Windows, who sponsored the beverage carts, kicked off the presentations by speaking about the decades of comprehensive exterior remodeling services that WestPro has provided to the Denver and Boulder areas, the distinctions awarded to the company, and the top industry certifications and standards of their contractors. WestPro is truly a great choice when looking for top-of-the-line exterior remodeling services!

Our friend, Dan Miller (30-year Marine Corps Veteran and Wounded Warrior Project representative) fell ill and wasn’t able to join us this year. But we were honored to host a number of Warrior Alumni and military veterans; each of whom stood during lunch and were applauded for their service, sacrifice, and bravery in protecting the principles and freedoms of our nation.

Army Veteran, Reuben Avila, spoke about the friend he recently lost to his ‘internal battle’, the need for various veteran programs, and thanked everyone for their part in supporting organizations like Wounded Warrior Project.

Lunch continued by announcing and congratulating our side game winners, each receiving $200 cash:
